It’s been such a long time since my last visit to my woods for a number of reasons and I have missed it. The weather forecast looked wet for yesterday but I wanted to go anyway as I will not be able to go again until early April! I had no tools with me so no jobs to do. Just wanted to spend a few hours there, reconnect and take some photos. I have a new mirrorless camera that I wanted to familiarize myself with, so all these photos are taken with it. I took two lenses, a 40-150mm and a 100-400mm. The lighting in there was very dark and the shutter speeds quite slow for handholding long focal length lenses but the image stabilization seems to have done a good job.
I had a good look around and apart from a few fallen dead branches, nothing major to report. I am aware of several jobs that do need attention but they will have to wait until spring when I am back. I realized how much I love being there. After a long break, I start to feel a stranger to it.

I was hoping to find some wildlife to photograph but all I saw was one robin briefly and heard some squirrels calling harshly. So as I have little to report I will just show you some of the photos I took.

Well that’s all for now. I do feel a little sad that I have not spent much time there this year and that it will be two months before my next visit but I hope to be able to fit in many visits this year.
